I'm like a ringleader (I call the shots)

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

There's only two types of people in the world: the ones who entertain and the ones who observed.. Well I'm a put on a show kind of girl.
Military Coat: Mango | Top: Zara | Skirt: Glitterati | Accessories: Random | Boots: Online | Bag: Givenchy Nightingale

Wore a ringleader inspired outfit which was fitting as we were watching Cirque Du Soleil. I don't know what it is about me but I love dressing for the occasion... it's interesting to play a part sometimes and while this was more "call to arms" than circus, I guess you get the vibe given my coat had a tail. Since it was rainy and we were experiencing typhoon weather back here, I decided it was high time I whip out my thigh high boots and take 'em out for a spin around town. It was a smart choice especially since it covered my legs against the elements esp. the cold since I get really really cold easily. Wore my all purpose Nightingale purse with the look which fit my entire life inside and of course added some bling rings including a cute gold elephant ring which added to the circus theme. (I watched Like Water for Elephants while preparing so I get into the whole circus mood!!!)

Cirque Du Soleil was awesome. Check out some photos I had to sneak taking with my Iphone!!! The set, the VIP Lounge (Tapis Rouge which means Red Carpet, literally) and the atmosphere was inspiring and it added to the vibe! I loved it!
(We were front row and I love the whole harlequin/ pageant of the macabre feel of that night!)

xx

Reality escapes her...

Friday, March 11, 2011

All the shimmers in this world is sure to fade, away, again.
Jacket: Zara
Shift Dress: Topshop
Fringe Necklace: +RUCKUS
Knee high socks: Marks & Spencer
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Shoes: Topshop

"She dreams a champagne dream
Strawberry surprise, pink linen and white paper
Lavender and cream
Fields of butterflies, reality escapes her"

I wore this to a much needed tame Saturday night out which consisted of din-din and a movie, which was quite refreshing, considering I've been going out a lot the past week. I have to say, I am not one to party and go out on weekends--- since I am a weekday warrior (I prefer going out on weekdays cause I love the control the knowledge you have work the next day gives and also because I try to avoid the bridge and tunnel overcrowding in bars/clubs on weekends... I guess it comes with age...?) My Fridays and Saturdays are reserved purely for hibernation and for relaxation, and I guess catching the screening of The Adjustment Bureau was a great way to unwind. I had a very stressful week (with an extra serving of losing my voice and two scraped knees on the side) which continued until that Saturday afternoon since we had to shoot for our new collection. I wore a very military outfit earlier during the day for the shoot (see last post) and I decided to just go with that vibe for night time with a leather jacket, studs, fringe and a whole lot of black.

I can be tamed after all.
