PRIMA DONNA and PROPER
(Chiffon Top: Glitterati | Tutu Skirt: Glitterati | Shoes: Prima Donna | Bag: Ferragamo | Accessories: +RUCKUS and Extreme Finds)

Love this outfit? Back to defend my title as the ultimate tutu fan, I resurrect my love for tutus with this black Glitterati poufed up one (which I will sell at the Bloggers United 2 Bazaar this Dec. 3! among other things). I wore the tutu since I wanted to give a rather quirky twist to my amazing shoes from the brand PRIMA DONNA, which I have come to discover I am loving. I got my Primas the other day and I so adore it! The color, style, design- screams ME and MY STYLE in so many ways!

I absolutely cannot wait for this brand's Launch on November 24, 2011 at Makati Shangrila Hotel Ballroom (thats tomorrow). Aside from unveiling their newest ad campaign and revealing the brand's newest endorser, bloggers such as myself, Aisa, Lissa, Nina etc. were handpicked for a SPECIAL SEGMENT in the show!

I will be posting another look in this outfit today--- check it out as I wore these very bold and diverse shoes in 2 completely opposite ways!

xx,JL

PRIMA DONNA- Christina Aguilera
Tonight is on, play my song, it's a celebration
I worked a long week and now there is no hesitation
I need a drink or two, make that a few, I ain't waiting
Yes, yes, I'm grown and you know I got no time for wasting

Gonna forget my trouble, 'cause it's a special night
Not gonna stress for nothing, I'm feeling quite alright
If it's your birthday, baby, I'm gonna grant your wish
This is a private party, V-I-P in this bitch (let's go)

I'm a prima donna, I can rule the world
Don't care who's around me, I can rule the world
So hands up, catch this feeling, there's no stopping this
Right now in this moment I can rule the world

So ladies, pop, pop, pop
Blow it up, make it pop, pop, pop
Turn it up, speakers pop, pop, pop
'Til I'm drunk, bottles pop, pop, pop

Take it back to the verse right now

A little fun never killed, never hurt nobody
So grab a glass and raise it up, baby, work your body
Ain't nothing wrong, just go on if you're feeling naughty
Yes, yes, I'm grown and I don't need no judgment on me

Gonna forget my troubles 'cause it's a special night
Not gonna stress for nothing, I'm feeling quite alright
If it's your birthday, baby, I'm gonna grant your wish
This is a private party, V-I-P in this bitch

I'm a prima donna, I can rule the world
Don't care who's around me, I can rule the world
So hands up, catch this feeling, there's no stopping this
Right now in this moment I can rule the world

So ladies, pop, pop, pop
Blow it up, make it pop, pop, pop
Turn it up, speakers pop, pop, pop
'Til I'm drunk, bottles pop, pop, pop

Break it down

I'm a prima donna, I can rule the world
Don't care who's around me, I can rule the world
So hands up, catch this feeling, there's no stopping this
Right now in this moment I can rule the world

Manels Rocks to School: The Darker Side of Black Collection

The Darker Side of Black: Manels Rocks to School

It is again that time of year when we start parting with the bright shades of summer and reach for the classic subtleties of black. Yes, it's that time again when we start shopping for the Back-to-School season! So the hunt begins for the perfect pair of black shoes. While this may be one of your less exciting shopping expeditions, Manels puts together a collection that spices things up and explores the darker side of black.

Manels Leathergoods, the country's pioneer brand in leather, heads into the Back-to-School season with its campaign entitled “Black Rockin' School”. “We want to bring the sexy back into black” says Mark Siggaoat, VP for Operations of Manels. The Manels “Black Rockin' School” collection highlights mid-cut leather boots, rubber-soled oxfords with a sneaker-type finish, and casual loafers for the men. For the ladies, modern mary janes and patent leather finish highlights the collection. “The Black Rockin' School collection has a little bit of something for the rebel in each of us” says Siggaoat. While the brand continues to carry its comfort staples and classic school shoes, the campaign takes a fresh angle into the Back-to-School season by giving style-conscious students a chance to “strut their styles” into the hallways this season.

Leather remains at the core of the brand's collection and campaign. Visibly, the store's look for the season takes its cue from vintage 70's punk rock. “We were inspired by that rugged black leather jacket look from the 70's popularized by The Ramones” says Siggaoat. Manels continues to reinvent itself in staying at the forefront of leather footwear since its inception in 1964.

Checkout Manels at all major Metro Manila malls. Checkout their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Manelsleathergoods or through Twitter via @marksig_manels.

Life in Technicolor.
Random tidbits of my very colorful life... in excess...Everything always in excess.

I always wear high heels, because I can't walk in anything else.
Re-organized my shoe closet and color coordinated it. I feel bad for the shoes at the back though..as the closet has three layers per row...The ones at the back are so neglected. Notice how I do not own a single pair of flats..the lowest I can go are my silver and gold Doc Martens and I rarely even wear them...well, aside for flip-flops solely for the beach which I have a different hiding place for
(I never play favorites with my shoes...except for my flip flops and flats, I never liked my flip flops, they hurt and wound my feet.)

Cinch it.
Mixing old with the new. Colorful collection of vintage Italian belts from my mom mixed with grommet-ed and studded biker chic belts from Glitterati's belt line, Grommet. The 3rd photo: a complete mess that is my closet drawer of shame. I just can't seem to fix it...and I do try!

"When you have insomnia, you're never really asleep, and you're never really awake."...but it sure does help to have a great bed to lie in.
My bedroom is separated from my clothes and shoes. I decided I had too much stuff and transferred my entire closet to my brother's old room (which is my new walk-in)... I think it helps not to have my clothes and shoes in my room...or else, I'd be playing dress up and not actually get any sleep. (Not that I am actually getting sleep now, anyway!) It's white and gold and VERY Victorian, notice the white chandelier plus the damask wall treatment which extends up to my ceiling...I even have a lamp in the exact same print to match. I feel like I'm trapped in the mid 1800's-1900's sometimes in this room. I want to remodel it pink and black soooo bad.

I like extremes. I'm fashion-bipolar.
When it comes to accessories, this is my philosophy: it's either studs and chains or pearls. Nothing in between.

I am a makeup junkie... MAC, Yves St. Laurent, Christian Dior, and anything else that looks good.
Some of my favorite memories as a kid was when I watched my mom put on makeup and be glamorous as she was preparing to head out..She was the one who taught me how to apply it... I never really liked playing outdoors or running around in the playground. Her cosmetics table was my own lil' playground. I used to play with her lipstick and eyeshadow whenever she was gone. And I think I was the reason for a student handbook amendment about not being allowed to wear makeup back in high school. I know it's nice to look natural...but seriously, you need makeup to actually look natural. I buy makeup I know I won't use just cause the color is cute. And I still think the cosmetics section in a department store and makeup shopping is cheaper than therapy.

Rose colored glasses.
I have sunglasses for everything. That's my thing. My friend just recently told me I had that reputation in college as the girl who wore really really big glasses and never said "Hi" to anyone first...ever.

I love everything in the summer, when it sizzles.
Summer is my favorite season and I am always so excited designing bikinis for it. I love the challenge, the thrill of addressing the different issues women have with their bikini bodies and the endless possibilities of what you can come up with just half a yard of fabric. I was in summer mode since last November and now most samples are done. It was quite confusing. Everyone wore knits or fur and in that layering mode... I was in bikini and coverup mode.

Hope you enjoyed random tidbits from my life. Sorry for the random need to share! I just needed a non-outfit blog post!
xx

I like this photo taken by my brother....It's so "Look for the girl with the broken smile."
My eyes look sad and I love it!
