Caught off guard

Thursday, September 22, 2011

Casual but not quite.
(Jeans: Zara | Tanktop: Zara | Shoes: DAS | Belt: Vintage Italian from Mom)

This day definitely caught me off guard. I originally thought I was in for a sedentary day until work crept up to me and I ended up in 3 different places to blog about rather than being in my bed in a rather vegetative mode. Not that I am complaining as I had quite an amazing day! First stop was My Health Clinic in Shangri-la which was quite fun and very very healthy- will save more of that for my blog entry...Followed by a very relaxing "PAMPER ME" treatment over at Chic Nails and Spa (It was phenomenal....seriously) and then capped off by an open house visit to Icon, a chic new condo development over at the Fort and to end the night, a meet up with good friends over at Draft in the Fort Strip, which was just sinful.

The call of duty, as it always does, came in last minute and I had aout 45 minutes to prepare, so I relied on my trusty skinny jeans (in white...I know, I know its a sin to wear white after labor day, so fine me!) and a layered tanktop. Everything about this look spells: CASUAL except for my ultra fab DAS shoes which instantly glamorized the look. I love how shoes can add that instant star quality to a look. Just add water and stir! Hope it worked. Very differen from my usual glamorama drama filled looks but its all aout variety!

Denim Revolution: Oxygen’s Reversible Jeans

Monday, July 25, 2011

When you’re already the go-to style hub of the Metro’s “it” fashionistas, what else do you do? Do you grow complacent? Or do you continue creating the most exciting fashion revolutions?

Head-turning, trend-setting clothing line Oxygen sure knows the answer! And yes, it is keen on embracing the latter as once again it introduces a first in Philippine retail: Oxygen’s Reversible Jeans. Well, style superstars will agree that it’s about time for such a fashionable innovation.

“We always keep things fresh and exciting. Fashion is very dynamic and so as our market. We want to show people we are continually evolving with them, giving them nothing less than the trendiest and the most eye-catching fashion,” said Oxygen’s Brand Director Jeffrey Bascon.

The reversible pants are no doubt the coolest twist that has ever happened to our normal everyday blue jeans. It’s basically having two denim styles in one perfect-fitting chaps. It’s great for fellows who are always out traveling or those that want to instantly change up their looks. All you got to do is flip it inside out!

Sure must-haves this season, it comes in different washes such as gray, dark blue, black, and others. You also have the freedom to find the perfect fit as it comes in either drop-crotch or skinny.

It’s time to be part of a hip denim revolution with Oxygen. The reversible jeans are out in stores starting third week of July. Go grab your pair!

Go to the Oxygen fan page on Facebook or catch it on Twitter @oxygenclothing for more information and exciting treats.

Denim on Denim.
(Denim top: Mango | Denim Skinny Jeans: Mango | Belt: Vintage Italian | Shoes: Syrup| Bag: Louis Vuitton | Accessories: Random)

Trying on denim on denim, I did not quite plan it but the identical shades of my top and jeans caused my outfit to look like a super sleek and fitted jumpsuit - especially since both items came from the same store! It was quite an unexpected optical illusion but I had fun and missed wearing jeans so much!!! Accessoriezed with Ra-Ra-Rawr Animal Print and went all cougar town with my belt and shoes.

Hope it worked!

Denim Nation.
Denim Top: Bought Online (I forgot the place though)
Pants: Mango
Shoes: Bumper
Purse: YSL Muse Bag by Yves Saint Laurent
Necklace: Ruckus

I went all bipolar and wore a somewhat androgynous look, as compared to my bodycon Herve dress from the last post, since I was to hustle and work to the max this day. Nothing screams comfort than pajama-ish trousers which look classy enough to wear out and not jogging pants-baggy. I am so happy I snagged this pair from Mango on that trouser binge shopping spree I had a few months back. I like it that its 1) drawstring 2) it has gray undertones, unusual for a brown hued pc. of clothing.

Let's take a closer look:

Get the look....

I paired denim and brown since I have a major thing for the combo, it's very rustic and cowboy-ish. (For me anyway) And its such a neutral palette, a great break to all my colorful dresses. Besides, denim is after all a MAJOR 2011 Spring/Summer trend...and I am loving that it is!

Bottom line: Denim is here to stay for Spring/Summer 2011- anyway!
