Ripe for the Picking.
(Top: Zara | Skirt: Glitterati | Bag: Louis Vuitton | Accessories: +RUCKUS and Cultus Chi Chi | Shoes: Zara | Belt: Vintage)

Citrus hues never go out of style, but this year they're hotter than ever.

I had a shoot with a summer theme coming out this March 2012 and since it was all about sun, sand and swimwear, I decided to embody summer's bright hued appeal in a bohemian color blocking outfit in bright Citrus shades of orange, yellow and a bit of turquoise to cool and tone it down. The look was easy and breezy and it definitely was the perfect choice for a hot day as we had an outdoor shoot. I piled on colors to break the blocked appeal of the outfit with my Murakami Louis Vuitton Rita bag and layered and piled on fringed neck pieces from +RUCKUS and Cultus Chi Chi.

xx, JL

Citrus Hues + Tribal Print
(Top: Forever 21, Shorts: Random from HK, Shoes: H&M, Purse: Cambridge Fluoro Satchel, Accessories: Cultus ChiChi, Sunnies: Prada)

Casual outfit in shorts and tube top and super LOW heels for a Saturday shoot--working behind the camera requires comfort over style so this was more of an exception rather than the rule with my style and dressing up choices.
Highlight of the look: my neon orange highlighter shade cambridge satchel.

Citrus Hues.
Dress: Forever 21| Cropped Tankop: Topshop| Bag: Alma in Vernis, Louis Vuitton| Wedges: Mango| Neckpiece: ILAYA

"Stories are like genies...They can carry us into and though our sorrows. Sometimes they burn, sometimes they dance, sometimes they weep, sometimes they sing. Like genies, everyone has one. Like genies, sometimes we forget that we do. Our stories can set us free...When we set them free."
- Francesca Lia Block

Make up-free Saturday morning as I was running VERY VERY late for a morning fitting for my Maid of Honor gown. It was my first fitting and can I just say- the dress, the color, the draping and the fir were all just MAGICAL. I loved it so much, so glad I didn't miss out on that one. A simple tip when going makeup free is to wear bright, bold lips...they compensate the paleness and I would know, considering I am so pale-faced and snow white. Another trick when going makeup-less are REALLY BIG SUNNIES. The bigger the better.
(I was going 'incognito' for the day and thus had to hide)

PHOTO DIARY:

The accessories up close: Love the shell and coral detail of my bib necklace so much!

At the Atelier: I could not resist the urge to take photos with the massive Baroque inspired mirror!

It's TART: I love the color combination. Reminds me of an Herve Berry Hued dress I have yet to wear!

Who knew makeup free would be so much fun? I know I definitely enjoyed the skin breather!

xx
