To say that the view of the lobby was breathtaking would have to be an understatement. Imagine walking into Italian furnished interiors, an amazing display of silver metal panels with lavish decor and Hermes-reminiscent boxes (Hey, anything from an orange box which screams Hermes, I love!), a majestic piano forte as a center piece to the already magnificent backdrop and LED lights dropping from all over the ceiling and changing colors... and that's what you get when I say that the lobby was in all levels CHIC.
Along with top bloggers, Laureen Uy, Camille Co, Jane Kingsu and Lissa Kahayon, I was invited to experience the Midas experience which began with, well, the SOP in all hotel stay procedures: getting checked in for my stay. The staff and reception people were beyond accommodating and I appreciated how they took service to a whole new level in Midas Hotel. As opposed to chains with massive occupants, the staff knew you and were quite ready to cater and adjust according to your needs, a quality that I find is a must in the hotel business.
I was quickly redirected to my rooms and as I walked past the corridor on the way to my room, I was in awe of the decadence and attention to detail the hotel had dedicated in every piece of design and decor they added. The walls leading up to the rooms were painted a refreshing tropical leafy print and a cute birdcage adorned each entrance of the rooms.
The rooms were spacious, well-kept and complete with all the amenities. Wifi-enabled, with LED screen Cable TV, a balcony which gave you a full view of Roxas Boulevard and my biggest rave: a bathroom that was very spacious. I am quite "prissy" when it comes to bathrooms in hotels and I appreciated the partition between toilet and bath and the sink and vanity stations. The bed was beyond comfortable and the pillows were just heavenly. I heard the hotel also offered a wide choice of pillows that the guest preferred to suit their needs.
Then, I got dressed. I picked a sleek LBD from Herve Leger for the night which, as most of you have subscribed to the Herve Leger school of thought and philosophy cut oxygen supply by 30% to your body as it was that tight. Hey, they don't call it "body con" for nothing, and we ladies have to suffer for those curves sometimes.
By the time I got down, after all my primping and pretty-fying, I was greeted by Cocktails, which were a signature daily fixture at Midas. Well when I saw how the place looked at night, which was more breathtaking than how it looked in the afternoon, I kind of got that it totally set the mood for a quiet pick-me-up ambiance to unwind and toast to the day that was. Very cosmopolitan and very chic!
It was a great blogger's night of all sorts. We had an ultimate blast being pampered and spoiled by the Midas Hotel staff. Also, it was such a good time to get to bond with fellow fashion bloggers and get to know how similar and crazy/beautiful we all were. Ended up bonding until the wee hours of the morning and slept in my ultra comfortable bed. By the time I got shuteye though, I took a quick shot of Roxas Boulevard at dawn...
Zzzz.....

The experience was capped off by a late buffet lunch over at Midas Cafe which induced food coma of all sorts. What an experience! Definitely living it up... Midas style.
Pure opulence, decadence and of course, only the marvelous.
xx, JL
