This spring is a contrast of sorbet shades and radiant hues which are on trend more than ever. However, my most favorite Spring/Summer 2012 2012 trend would have to be the coral color revival. Perhaps in all shades and tones, this vibrant orange hue flatters almost all skin tones and I am ecstatic it is all the rage this season.
Browsing through MANGO's extensive selection of this season's hottest trends, I found myself instantly being drawn to the vibrant shade and was instantly entranced by the lovely coral maxi skirt which was pleated to perfection. I knew I had to have it. Rather than going the safe route of choosing a tank top in a basic shade, I boldly paired the skirt with an equally bold color. The blouse which is a similar color but more on the salmon spectrum was the perfect combination as it was a mix of fresh and feminine, a look I have recently subscribed to wearing.
To break the monotonous feel of the look (even if I did want to have the skirt-blouse pairing have a maxi dress effect), I found perfect off white accessories- a braided belt to cinch my waist and flatter my figure that matched suede wedges which had the perfect heel height. The add ons, as I do love to excessorize include a tribal/ ethnic beaded cuff which has wonderful shades of orange and brown. A necklace that complimented the cuff was such a statement piece... the one thing hat definitely completed my look.
Everything is part of MANGO's amazing S/S 2012 Collection. If you like this look, then you will definitely fall in love with everything MANGO has in store for you!
xx, JL

MANGO SPRING/SUMMER 2012
Mango has always been a favorite go to brand of mine. For years, I have relied on the brand for my fashion fix. Known for their feminine vibe mixed with sexy, classic silhouettes, their Spring 2012 Collection definitely embodies the signature style that has made the Spanish-based brand recognized globally as a major retailer in fashion.
With fashion's it-girl Kate Moss headlining the brands current collection, I have to say... for MANGO, it just keeps getting better.
With a versatile array of pieces that would surely entice every fashionista, the collection pays tribute to the feminine form... with a clear 1960's influence. Flirty, lightweight silhouettes, easy breezy maxi dresses, skirts and jumpsuits abound and define S/S 2012's Mango woman.
The spring collection which wen viral with Kate Moss posing for the lookbook and starring in a commercial directed by reknowned photographer Terry Richardson entitled Spy Games, debuted what Mango had to offer for the season.
The palette bounces and plays around hues of nude, apricot, black, yellow and the year's it-color, coral. Pastel and sorbet hues are also very evident alongside the radiant colors and rockstar metallics of the urban chic selection...all of which, of course, are shown in loose fitting shapes and clean lines and silhouettes.
The major winners, in my opinion, are the knit tops and sweaters, pleated maxis, tinted and tie dyed denims. But of course, in the case of MANGO, there is always more to love. Introducing a more casual chic line, Mango also boasts of ethnic and tribal elements with bright hues, bold and abstract prints, tie dye with a sportswear touch.
